| A real sailor's boat. Fast. Graceful. Elegance in a classic sense with a sweeping sheer and elegant overhangs. "Nan of Clynder" is one of sixteen 8 meter C/R's turned out by McGruer and Company between 1951 and 1966. They were, at the time, the fastest yachts of their size in a locale famed for fast boats. Of the sixteen 8 meter C/R's built most are still sailing today - a testament to the quality of the build by a boat builder with over 100 years experience. The August 2009 survey noted: "All the best materials and workmanship was employed, and it has benefited from good maintenance from skilled and knowledgeable owners". The hull is splined mahogany plank on oak frames with copper fasteners. About every third frame is steel. The original owner had many custom features added such as teak decks plus interior touches for comfortable cruising. "Nan of Clynder" is a real thoroughbred. A classic in every sense of the word. At our docks in Sidney. Viewings by appointment please. |
